All players who are invited to join the Wallingford Cardinals organization, along with their parents, are required to read and sign the Commitment Letter +  PLAYER CONTRACT before being accepted as a member of the team.

I understand that the “WALLINGFORD CARDINALS” organization and coaches will make considerable commitments and sacrifices to ensure a successful fall and summer softball season and that these commitments and sacrifices are being made for my benefit.

Besides committing to play, I understand that I will have to make certain other commitments and sacrifices, and among these are:

I WILL attend ALL practices and practice games, ALL team meetings, and ALL scheduled tournament games.

I WILL abide by ALL of the team and Wallingford Cardinals organization rules and regulations.

I WILL control my temper at all times.

I WILL give 100% effort in both practice and games.

I WILL show respect for my teammates, my coaches, umpires, fans, and opposing team players and coaches at all times.

I WILL play as a team player, and not as an individual.

I WILL subdue my pride in victory, and, as long as I have done my best, I will hold my head high in defeat.

I WILL accept proper discipline without complaining.

I WILL apply what is taught to me so that I may improve myself both as a player and as a person.

I WILL help and participate in events sponsored by the Wallingford Cardinals (field clean-up, fundraising, equipment moves, etc.), that are for the benefit of the team, the organization, and myself.

I WILL NOT engage in gossip or backbiting or be a part of a group clique, and I will treat each of my teammates as my best friend while on the field and on trips.

I WILL NOT engage in social media activities which reflect poorly on myself or the Cardinals Softball Program, such as online bullying and/or posting videos with excessive swearing or violent language

I WILL NOT complain about the position or positions I am asked to play, nor will I complain about the amount of playing time I receive.
