Play Local, Support Local, Build Together
We exist to positively impact the Wallingford community by developing athletes and coaches into leaders with character and a passion for excellence, emphasizing the growth of body and mind.
Our History
The Wallingford Cardinals Baseball Club Corp began as a baseball organization in 1993. Over time, it became the local Post 187 American Legion baseball program. In 2009, it joined with the CT Cobras to become not only an American Legion program, but a travel program for younger players. In 2016 the program added travel softball to its activities. By 2018, the Cardinals had an indoor facility to call home, The Nest Indoor Sports Training. In 2024, the Cardinals added youth Field Hockey programming.
At any given time there are roughly 150 local athletes involved in the Cardinal program, from its 3&4 year old Hatchling program, to the travel teams, to other camps and activities the program runs to keep youth active.
The Wallingford Cardinals is a 501(C)3 non-profit that works hand in hand with our other local programs (Wallingford Yalesville Little League, Girls Little League Softball of Wallingford, etc.) to ensure kids have the opportunities to grow, learn, and have fun at a fraction of the cost of similar programs.
